Ancestral Folkways is a
publication produced by and for those who share
a common love and reverence for our
Indo-European spiritual heritage. Our
disposition is decidedly folkish, although AF
is, and will remain, strictly speaking, a
non-political and non-denominational
publication. With this said, we intend to keep
the scope and direction of AF entirely
constructive, uplifting, and positive in its
outlook.
We hope you will find
Ancestral Folkways to be a quality publication.
We aim to appeal to a broad spectrum of
pagan/heathen traditionalists, eclectics, and
reconstructionists (including both solitary and
group practitioners), as well as students of
folklore and history. We have designed this
magazine with the intent to attract both
long-time adherents, as well as offer an entry
point for new people into the heathen/pagan
community.
In coming issues we will
offer a wide range of valuable information and
interesting subject matter for our readers,
including topics ranging from essays dealing
with Indo-European mythology/folklore (Persian,
Hindu, Celtic, Slavic, Germanic, Baltic,
Greco-Roman, etc), comparative religion,
Zoroastrianism, organic farming, herbal medicine
and related lore, Arthurian Romances, Shamanic
practices, Ugro-Finnic lore, practical advice on
performance of individual and group rituals,
runology, homesteading, fertility cults and
folkloric practices (e.g. mummers, morris
dancers), among other things.
